Terms of Service
Last updated September 4, 2026 · Version 2026-09-04
The short version. You send film. Three anonymous college coaches evaluate it honestly and tell you where your athlete realistically projects and what to work on. That's an informed opinion, not a prediction and not a promise of anything from any college. We are not a recruiting service, we don't contact colleges on your behalf, and we can't get anyone recruited.
1. What you get
A TrustedEval evaluation consists of:
- Three independent evaluations from active college coaches, each recorded as a voiceover video breakdown of your athlete's film.
- A combined scorecard showing each coach's scores, the combined average, and the spread between them.
- A projected competition level — the tier each coach believes the athlete realistically projects to, from Division I high-major through JUCO.
- Development feedback — specific areas to improve, with what "better" looks like.
We'll review your film within one business week of your order and email you if it isn't usable before any work begins.
2. What this isn't
This matters more than anything else on this page, so we'll be blunt about it.
- We are not a recruiting service. We do not contact colleges, coaches, or programs on your athlete's behalf. We do not promote your athlete. We do not place anyone anywhere.
- An evaluation is an opinion, not a prediction. Coaches are giving their honest professional read of the film in front of them. Reasonable evaluators disagree — that's exactly why we send three, and why we show you the spread between them rather than hiding it behind an average.
- No outcome is promised or implied. Nothing in an evaluation is a guarantee, offer, or indication of admission, recruitment, roster spot, scholarship, or financial aid at any institution. Recruiting outcomes depend on academics, timing, position need, relationships, and a great deal of luck — none of which we control or assess.
- A coach's evaluation is their own opinion, not a statement by their institution, and does not represent recruiting interest from that institution. Coaches evaluate anonymized film and do not know who your athlete is.
- We are not a substitute for your athlete's own coaches, and nothing here is medical, training, academic, or eligibility advice.
An evaluation is worth having precisely because it's candid. Sometimes the honest answer is not the one a family hoped for. That's the product working, not failing.
3. Your responsibilities
- You must be the athlete's parent or legal guardian, or be 18 or older. You confirm this at checkout, and we record it.
- Be honest. The evaluation is only as good as what you give us. Submitting film that misrepresents your athlete — someone else's footage, or a tape cut to hide weaknesses — produces a worthless evaluation and wastes three coaches' time.
- Send film you have the right to send. See section 4.
- Don't send what we didn't ask for. Please don't include your athlete's address, date of birth, medical information, or academic records.
4. Film and rights
You keep ownership of your film. Submitting it grants us a limited, non-exclusive license to store it, anonymize it, and show it to evaluating coaches for the sole purpose of producing your evaluation. That's the whole license. We will not use your athlete's film in marketing, on our site, or anywhere public without asking you first and getting your written agreement.
By submitting film you confirm you have the right to share it — that it's your own footage, or you have permission from whoever recorded it. Some club, league, and third-party recording services own the footage they produce and restrict what you can do with it. Checking that is your responsibility, and you agree to cover us if a claim arises from film you didn't have the right to send.
The evaluation we produce is yours to use. Share it with your athlete, your coaches, your family, or a college — it's yours. We ask only that you don't publish the coaches' video breakdowns publicly, since that risks the anonymity the coaches rely on.
5. Anonymity, and its limits
We anonymize film before any coach sees it, and we never reveal coach identities to families. Both directions of that anonymity are what make candid evaluation possible.
We can't make it absolute. Footage of a real athlete on a real field may be recognizable to someone who already knows them, and we can't strip every possible cue. We also can't control what a coach does outside our process. What we can promise is that we don't pass along identifying information, we anonymize carefully, and we treat a coach identifying an athlete — or a family identifying a coach — as a serious breach.
Delivered evaluations are hosted at a private, unlisted link. Anyone you forward it to can open it, so share it deliberately. Ask us any time and we'll revoke or replace the link.
6. Payment and refunds
- Evaluations are $199 during the beta period. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
- Before coaches begin: full refund, no questions, for any reason. Just email us.
- If your film isn't usable: we'll tell you within one business week and either help you get better film or refund you in full.
- If we can't deliver three coach evaluations, we'll refund you in full.
- After delivery: because the work is done by people and can't be returned, delivered evaluations are generally not refundable. That said — if you believe an evaluation was careless, incoherent, or didn't engage seriously with your athlete's film, tell us. We'll review it, and where we agree we'll re-run the evaluation with different coaches or refund you. We would rather fix a bad evaluation than keep the money for it.
- Disagreeing with a coach's honest assessment isn't grounds for a refund. Poor quality work is.
7. Liability
The service is provided as-is. To the fullest extent the law allows, TrustedEval isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages, including decisions made in reliance on an evaluation. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for the evaluation in question.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited under applicable law.
8. Changes and termination
We may update these terms. The version in effect when you placed your order governs that order, and the version date is recorded with it. We may decline or cancel an order — with a full refund — if film can't be evaluated, if we can't verify guardianship, or if the request is abusive.
